David Nyamu

Chief Commercial Officer

Mr. Nyamu joined the bank on 7th September 2026 as the Chief Commercial Officer  bringing onboard over 30 years of experience across banking and financial services, with a distinguished career spanning public sector and corporate banking, credit risk management, business development, marketing, institutional banking and strategic leadership.

He previously served as General Manager, Sovereign & Public Sector Banking  at  Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) for four years. In this role, he led a high-performing team serving government ministries, county governments and state agencies.

Prior to KCB, David spent 13 years at Equity Bank, holding senior leadership roles across public sector and corporate banking, marketing, business development and institutional banking. 

He  brings a wealth of experience spanning public sector and corporate banking, credit risk, business development, marketing and strategic leadership.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kenyatta University, a Diploma in Business Management from the Kenya Institute of Education.

He has undertaken executive education and leadership programs, including Governance, Strategy & Leadership at Harvard Business School and the Effective Director Masterclass at Strathmore University.
